I would have given anything for my little ones to have stayed awake until 7.30p.m - so that I could have hopefully had a bit of a lie in the next morning, instead of having to get up at 5.30a.m. because they insisted on falling asleep at around 6.30 every night!

Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-834822786084044829.post-19056507055671501722013-02-02T12:59:05.349+00:002013-02-02T12:59:05.349+00:00The statement of a "Tapas friend" record...The statement of a "Tapas friend" records Kate`s dilemma as to whether the apartment should be left unlocked in order that Madeleine could walk out and find her parents should she wake, rather than find them missing and herself locked in!

It appears from this that the possibility of Madeleine waking was acknowledged by her parents and actually catered for by leaving the doors unlocked, apparently for her to pop out in her nightwear alone at night and make her way to the tapas bar.

I always understood the reason for the unlocked doors was in case of "fire" until I read that statement.

I found it shocking.

"Hazel" ( All the best to you!)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-834822786084044829.post-53772667293997624282013-02-01T18:23:02.331+00:002013-02-01T18:23:02.331+00:00The neglect issue was very quickly whooshed. But like most parents looking at this group of intelligent and experienced people leaving babies alone, I have to say what on earth were they thinking!

Not just babies, but walking toddlers, who may well have been able to climb out of their cots and run amok within a strange apartment. Not to mention the distress if no adult is there.

As sympathetic as I am to their predicament now, I remain astonished at their stupidity.
Rosalinda Huttonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01497239700092619580noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-834822786084044829.post-60731843765571338072013-01-30T19:36:10.328+00:002013-01-30T19:36:10.328+00:00Many people have their kids sleeping by 7.30 some ...Many people have their kids sleeping by 7.30 some i know even managed it by 6.30! So not really a valid argument just because it evaded you, it did me too but i'd not be so judgemental as to say it was impossible to others! And thats where i stopped reading if you can be so narrow minded about when when a parent puts a child down to sleep and imply it must've been with "help" then you've already made your mind up they are guilty so no point in reading to see if you can sway me to your way of thinking!
