I'M NOT A BLEDDY HATER LORRAINE!

It is about time those who fawn over the McCanns stopped with the name calling.  For whatever reason, they are viewing this case through rose tinted glasses, never stopping for one moment to consider that their deeply entrenched, starry eyed judgement of this grieving couple might be wrong?

I don't believe the McCanns, and if anyone bothered to do a quick public opinion poll, it would soon become apparent, that not many people do.  The huge audiences they attract are not sympathetic to their plight, merely astonished that the debacle continues.

Like hundreds of thousands of others out there, I don't hate the McCanns, I hate being lied to.  I hate that these breakfast sofa Queens consider that their opinions are the only ones that matter, and that anyone who views this case differently to themselves must be low life scum who are persecuting the bereft parents of a missing child purely out of spite and malice.  How little they think of the non professional classes who make up a large chunk of their audience.

They have accepted, without question, the word of parents who admitted they left their children alone, almost every night of their holiday, even when their oldest child asked them why they didn't come to herself and her brother when they cried.  As heartbreaking as that is, the parents then went out again, and that child is missing, probably dead.  Are these commentators aware that on May 1st Madeleine cried non stop for over an hour, sobbing and screaming inbetween?  Are they aware of the distress of the elderly lady in the apartment upstairs, hearing this child cry and being unable to do anything? Are they holding their hands over their ears and saying 'that's horrid, I'm not listening'?

They are accepting, on the word of two former suspects, that experienced detective Goncalo Amaral and the Portuguese police who investigated Madeleine's disappearance are incompetent and corrupt, as too are the officials who run the Judiciary.  The final report does not say the parents are innocent, the final report says they lost the opportunity to prove their innocence. Kate refused to answer police questions and the entire group refused to return for a reconstruction.

Of course among the McCann watchers, there will be gloaters inevitable in a case such as this. Gloaters for non Blackadder fans, are people who crowd around to gloat at others' misfortunes.  The McCanns did of course give all of us an opportunity to pat ourselves on the backs, because unlike the good doctors, we would never have left our tiny children on their own to go out to dinner, so we are better than them.  However, those who wanted to say that, got it out of their system long ago.  Now the hot news is a Gerry lookalike wandering around PDL at 10pm with a Madeleine lookalike.  I could have tripled the length of that last sentence by stating it couldn't possibly be him, but I couldn't bring myself to type it.  Of course, my omission will lay me open to all sorts of hate mail, but, seriously, what are the chances of Gerry having a doppelganger in PDL, out and about enjoying the night air at the same time as himself, and making off with a child who looked exactly like Madeleine? They even had matching chinos with buttons down the side.  Spooky huh?  I say the aforementioned with trepidation, because I fear a future where questioning the McCanns will lead straight to jail without passing Go.

I must be careful. The watchers are watching our words.  I'm already on the Hate List of a known McCann enforcer.  Its kind of like the old McCarthy Blacklist, with name calling and character assassination. They keep track of my internet activity 24/7, its a bit creepy, but on the plus side, as a narcissistic writer I always have readers, and lucky me, they never miss a grammatical error!   They have after all these years, pretty much done their worst, but I still live in fear of them catching a picture of me scratching my arse and placing it alongside a picture of an outsize orangutan and a Spot the Difference caption.   I have confidence and paranoia issues.  I could cry sometimes, but it makes my eyes go puffy.  McCann supporters can be very cruel.  I wonder if  Lorraine and her colleagues are aware of the activities of the enforcement arm of the McCann campaign - have they ever bothered to look?

Over ninety percent of those who do not believe the McCanns are reasonable, logical people, from all walks of life, who simply find this story has gone so far into Wonderland that it no longer makes sense, not that it was up to much in the first place.  Those brave enough to dip a toe, will soon discover they are far from alone in their doubts.  Sadly, such is life, as in any movement or campaign, there is a small minority who cross the line, but for the majority of us who discuss this case, bad taste is bad taste, no matter what side you are on.  These journalists have the communication skills to challenge opinions they do not like, so why resort to ridiculous assertions and name calling?

Those of us on the receiving end of this constant abuse are here because we took an interest in the tragic case of a small girl who disappeared from her bed while on holiday.  We were alarmed at the disparities in the parents stories, their increasingly odd behaviour and the horrible feeling that we were being manipulated.  We had no idea then that we would come head to head with a fully armed media war machine that would go to any lengths to shut us up.

There is no evidence of abduction, and grown ups don't like being told to believe in something for which there is no definitive proof.  I believe God has the same problem.  The majority of child abduction cases involve the parents. It is not unreasonable to ask why Kate and Gerry McCann should be above suspicion.  A wicked crime has been committed, we should never forget that.  This case should not be about sympathy and support for the parents, it should be about discovering the fate of the child.  Rather than calling us names and dismissing us as 'haters' Lorraine et al should at least have the courtesy of listening to our reasons for not believing, and engage in civilised debate.

Why, for example, do they accept unconditionally  the word of two former suspects over that of the long serving detective Goncalo Amaral, his entire team, the English police involved in the original investigation and the Portuguese Judiciary?  Every lead was exhausted, the files, available to all, reveal  a thorough and transparent investigation carried out by the PJ, the biggest missing child search in Portugual's history.

Lorraine, Jane, Allison etc, should put aside their prejudice, and read the Portuguese investigation files, or even the book of Goncalo Amaral - its a more reader friendly version of the files, before judging this kind and dedicated cop, so cruelly.  He is not the monster portrayed by the McCanns and their spin doctors as the first few pages of The Truth of The Lie*, will quickly reveal.  They should also accept that a large number of their viewers and readers are among those so called 'haters' and 'nutcases' because they are astute enough to know when they are being lied to, even if the accomplished journalists and presenters don't.

  1. Wow!!. Well said,

These Breakfast sofa queens will do anything for a bit a spare cash. They all link up with that Missing People charity who are funded by donations from Fiona Phillips Postcode Lottery and BBC Children in need, then they pay out nearly 70% of their income in wages. Its all limelight and cash for these women, they have no hearts, no personalities and they are cold and uncaring towards the plight of a small child, but unlike the majority of us they do have the ability to lie, manipulate and deceive just so long as they benefit from it, I think that you call it a narcissistic personality disorder. Yes Lorraine, its you I am talking about.

  2. Someone once said that the Kelly woman was a quintessential whore for money.

I'm not sure that assertion is entirely correct, but she's certainly not a woman I would trust with the welfare of vulnerable young children.

She can never claim ignorance as the fullest extent of the facts have been sent to her by registered mail.

Keep up the good work my dear, they will never truly win.xx

  3. I would say the perpetrators have reaped what they sowed. Even if a trial is escaped, they're in their own prison. Only those they've duped, those who are scared of Carter Ruck and those who are gullible enough to believe anything (a rapidly diminishing number) actually believe in the unproven assertion of abduction. Who would trust them implicitly? Tides always turn, even if you have a damn good attempt at stopping them. It's just too bad it's the innocent babies who will suffer most of all.

I would urge Lorraine Kelly and her colleagues to put aside pre-conceived emotional ideals and look again with fresh eyes to consider 'what if', as all journalists worth their training should do. What is so special about the parents that some journalists have lost all rational powers of judgement and closed their minds to anything other than the parents' unproven assertion of abduction? PR? Fear of reprisal? It's the ultimate hot potato.

    Another great blog Ros.

    1. I don't know. Its like they can see something we can't, or Paul McKenna has had a block booking! I've been studying micro expressions to read people's faces, I'm that obsessed, ha ha, but these people, the saintly couple included, can pull hangdog expressions that make you want to throw all your change in a bucket. Its Oscar winning stuff! I am not enough of a Mentalist to have figured it out, but its a work in progress!

    1. The McCanns guarantee ratings, and they also guarantee headlines. No doubt Lorraine gets a boost in viewers when they appear, but the reason the stats go up are not necessarily altruistic. Knowingly or not, Lorraine will be complicit in their downfall.

  7. And when the McCanns are eventually arrested and charged all these presenters and 'journalists' (l use the term loosely since none of them properly research anything to do with this case) will be up in arms on their programmes taking phone-ins on 'How did they fool us all'?? Well they're only fooling the media, the information is out there. More fool anyone for taking what two of the official suspects in Maddies disappearance say as Gospel - (almost) in the words of Christine Keeler 'Well they would say that wouldn't they?'

Using terms such as 'trolls and haters' are constructs designed to shut people up and keep the truth hidden as no-one likes to be called such names, but not believing the parents story does not make you evil. Such a campaign by the McCanns has worked for 6 years but no more, the lid of pandoras box is well and truly off. The information on Smith sighting, the Gaspar statements, Eddie and Keela and the 48 questions are flying around the internet reaching a wider audience daily.

Your article is excellent Christobell, in fact it's perfect. Well said.

  8. Tell me this Lorraine. If the McCanns babysat your child and this event happened would you accept their version of events? Would you refuse to accept the evidence of the blood and cadaver dogs? What would you think to the whole group of 9 people refusing a reconstruction and Kate refusing to answer 48 questions to find your child?

Now think of MADELEINE. She is being done a great injustice.

    1. She goes way beyond the call of duty in her deference/defence of the parents. She even jumps in and answers her own questions for fear of hurting their feelings. Its like watching a sugar and spice world where Madeleine is being held in a tower and if we all close our eyes and make a wish, she will magically reappear, and they will live happily ever after. Just how much more dumbing down can television take? The next generation will be watching teletubbies and jackass 24/7, whilst the nations' nannies tell us to recycle our cider cans for the Maddie Fund.

  9. Excellent!! It really sickens me that those of us who are not wringing our hands in anguish over those parents, are deemed as being some kind of monsters - or as was even suggested by one person, more in favour of the abductor than the parents! FFS - get a grip!!!

    1. Hey Jo! xx

Its completely absurd. In over 6 years of posting on this case, I have yet to encounter anyone who fits the stereotype of a hater created by the McCann Media monitors. No-one should be above criticism and above the Law. These journalists have turned it into a class war by implying those criticise the good doctors are jealous of their education and social standing, while the truth is, most of us are still reeling that a tiny child has seemingly vanished and the parents have spent 6 years fundraising. Nothing very classy about putting out collection buckets and appealing to the public to support your family.

    2. Agree, but I read a post elsewhere recently that stated the" McCanns got into a third tier med school on a working class ticket."
That shows the envy that the poster has, as a medical degree is just that. No matter whether gained at Oxbridge or Glasgow all equal, but as soon as the poster shows their obvious chip, they become a "hater" and taint a whole forum. A med degree is like no other, it has different rules laid out by the GMC.. As for gaining one on a "working class ticket"? I laughed out loud at that!

I didn't come here to spout that, although I have.

I wonder though, why the Met are showing E Fits made by PI's employed by past "persons of interest" in the case. To me, that's like allowing their own PI's to swab their premises for forensic non-evidence.

Who could say how the witness was led into drawing up these EFits. They looked remarkably to me like two Paedos in Spain that were published.
It would never be allowed in court so what are the Met up to?

  10. Wow! Besides agreeing with every word that you say, might I add that it is beautifully written and a joy to read. It makes such a change to see the written word correctly executed. I totally believe what you say about team McCann monitoring you. There is a comments thread about the case on Yahoo! news, (titled 2,400 calls after appeals), and they have representatives on there trying to bully people verbally into shutting up if they voice suspicion of the McCanns.

  11. Just wanted to add that I wish that such a well-written and truthful piece, as well as the intelligent comments and praise it has received, could be seen by someone with the power to influence this case. The anti-McCann contingent are not ignorant, unemployed trolls as was suggested elsewhere this week: we are right-minded people who want to see justice done for a little girl that cannot speak for herself. Thank you for having the courage to speak for out.

    1. Most of the people who do not believe the McCanns are intelligent and erudite, but that doesn't fit with the mythical 'hater/pitchforker' created by the McCanns and bought up with glee by the tabloids. Such a creature doesn't exist.

The media must wake up to the fact that the majority of the public do not believe the McCanns and calling them names, will not change their minds. It is downright condescending!

  12. Excellent. I'm glad that it seems there are a growing number of people who are doubtful about this case, as I always have been. When the efit of the 'unknown' suspect came out, it was trending all over twitter that these pictures looked surprisingly like Gerry. I can't believe they released the efit when it is based on someone who believes they saw Gerry that night, but it is one step closer to the truth. What sickens me in all this is how the British media machine works, through influence and threats, and wilful ignorance of the facts. Thank you for this blog, the more people who speak out the better.

    1. Indeed and the shameful way the media, and indeed the police, have linked the very sad story of the two gypsy girls, with Missing Madeleine is shameful. Both girls now proved to be proven offspring of the families involved. Can we imagine the trauma of having our offspring snatched by the authorities, held and blood tested while the world looked on? Still, Clarence was good enough to come out and say it gave the McCanns hope. Well thats alright then.

    2. I saw a picture of a badge: "I am not Maddie. Please do not stare at me, you will frighten me". Recently there was an alleged sighting of Madeleine on a beach in Spain. The man who saw her tried to take a picture of her with his mobile phone. He thought it "suspicious" that her parents would not allow this. Who in their right mind would allow a stranger to photograph their child? And who has contributed more than most people to the anxiety about paedophiles and abductors? Why, the McCanns, of course!

  20. I think you are a really sick woman. I have never read much about the McCanns and could not be described as 'pro' or 'anti'. I don't know what happened, but neither do you. However, the fact that you can write this type of thing, without really knowing the truth, says a lot more about you than the McCanns.

You have serious issues, and I also don't believe your self promoted nonsense regarding your own shocking childhood!

You're a fraud, and that's why you are so suspicious of other lies. You are willing to at worst 'lie' about your own childhood, and at best 'grossly exaggerate' and that's why you see this in others.
