THE KNIVES ARE OUT

The speed with which some of you have bought into the McCanns and Tony Bennett's malevolent publicity has left me shaken if not stirred.  In order to cling onto and indeed promote the negativity of what is being said, you have grasped onto the negative aspects of the article and disregarded the positive in its entirety.  I was concerned the Sun readers may not have been able to read between the lines, I didn't expect it from people I thought were on the same side.

The article was about TROLLS, I was an interviewee, I had no control whatsoever over what was published, yet some have assumed that I ALONE wrote it, edited it and placed it under a sensational headline.  The article was by Martin Daubney, NOT Sonia Poulton.  He approached Sonia because he knew she was working on a McCann documentary and knew several people who, as campaigners, could be classed as trolls and he wanted someone who was willing to be identified.  I was asked to do it and I accepted because imo, ANYTHING that gets the message out there is worth a try, and lets face it, having used my own name and face this past 8 years, my reputation has already been torn to shreds.  All you honourable and anonymous people have been spared the threats and abuse that myself and a handful of others have had to put up with, yet when I get an opportunity to defend myself you are first in the queue with the knives. Live and learn.

I do hope that when the dust settles, people will begin to see the bigger picture.  Whether I or indeed any of us are trolls matters not one iota to the case of missing Madeleine.  The public are now beginning to see the light as far as the McCanns' chosen form of campaigning is concerned, the death of Brenda Leyland hit hard.  How many Sun readers do you think will agree with McCann trolls phoning a distressed woman in the middle of the night saying (dead) 'Mummy here' and 'why don't you kill yourself'?

To all those protesting or who may have wanted to do the interview themselves, would they have come across any better than I did?  Would Sun readers for example empathise with Tony Bennett, Rothley Pillow, Ben Thompson, Zora or indeed any of the more extreme activists who campaign for Maddie?  Would they have portrayed 'you all' in a good light?

And then there are those who have taken the moral highground. 'How could you?' they shriek, The Sun, of all tabloids?  Couldn't you have found a small clean living publication where the proprietors and journalists are pillars of the society and their readership hold clean CRB's?  The only way to get the news out there is honourably, even if it only reaches 10 people and a couple of goats. Failing that, just go back to discussing the ins and outs of the case for next 8 years and tear viciously into anyone who dares to step out of line putting your (anonymous) reputations at risk.

The McCanns are desperate to stop Sonia Poulton's documentary whatever the cost and the knives are well and truly out.  Of course, they don't have to worry too much about the cost at the moment, what with so many anti's jumping onboard to fight their corner.  In the case of the McCanns, they prove again and again how easy it is to manipulate public opinion.  Create an enemy and all join in for the kill, it brings people together in a way that nothing else can.

So many anti's now using lines directly from the death dossier compilers site JATYK2, it is almost impossible to tell them apart, I'm getting a real taste of how Brenda must have felt when she went off to that hotel room on her own.  I have a good idea behind the reasoning for this call for blood, but I won't be phased by it.  I will continue to do the same as I have for last 8 years, I will keep asking those questions, and I will keep trying to get the truth out to a wider audience.

As for the Sun article, we should be discussing trolling, what is a troll?  Who are they? Should there be 'trolling laws'?  Should people like myself be allowed to post on the internet?  Look at the bigger picture.  The article raises questions that need to be asked, or before we know it, we will have legislation that will swiftly bring an end to any future discussions like these.

The article in the Sun was yesterday's news, lets hope it leads to the very thing the McCanns do not want.  More questions.

  1. Didn't like the fact you seem to get a buzz from commenting on the case , for most they are incensed at control the mccanns have over the media and how no decent questioning is ever allowed of the mccanns on any media platform . However you're brave enough to post in your own name which is more than can be said for most cowardly posters . I believe yourself and Sonia in puting yourselves out there could come under attack in ways that we might not even imagine possible or even enter our heads . Please take care of yourselves .

  2. I didn't say I got a buzz from discussing the case of Madeleine. I said I got a buzz from the online altercations as I enjoy words, word games and debates, I have never made a secret of that. I suspect most people who use social media, twitter especially, get that same buzz.

As for them being incensed, they are presently shooting the messengers and losing sight of the message!

  3. Here is an example of where nobody - no member of public can ask a question - about the McCann case without being ridiculed or attacked , considering it is a public open group we find that strange ! https://m.facebook.com/groups/1529443800612966 Even worse for rudeness or banning of public questioning is the McCann Facebook page - official find Madeleine , just try & ask a question and you will be woodshed .

Not one of us is perfect, mostly folk are trying to do the best they can with what they've got, thanks for trying, I understand why you stuck your neck out.

However, I'm sure you don't need me to tell you - British MSM really are a piece of work
so keep yourself many steps ahead whenever and wherever possible.

  7. The mccanns spokesman is no longer . Clarence Mitchell's bio says EX spokesman . Now he is attempting to become elected for conservatives in Brighton he cannot become embroiled in McCann saga now , especially considering the mccanns are on course to lose their own case whereby they are trying to grab £1.2 million from detective ! Maybe more papers will grow a pair and quick if they want to up their sales figures by printing facts . It's a fact that mccanns have very very little support , no matter how much they want to spin it the public don't take kindly to the neglect issues and subsequent dodgy muddled police statents ( constantly changed ) Brave lady Cristobel

I see you're wearing a mask on here, and not posting in your own name! So do you include yourself as a cowardly poster? When you witness the nastiness, and contempt for some posters lately, is there any wonder they are reluctant to post in their own name, here or anywhere else?

There's an awful lot of hate, and slagging off of others, all because they have a different view to their rivals. Why is it that supposedly adult contributors to Forums won't accept that people have their own views about the fate of Madeleine McCann.

I think anyone who tries to get answers, to questions that are being avoided at all costs, deserves some respect! Sonia, and Cristobell, are being victimized for doing that, I wonder why?

  11. Who is damaging the case of Madeleine McCann?

An article by Cristobell in The Sun or numerous articles and events over a number of years by TB?.

Who has been taken to Court for the "unreasonable" pursuit of the McCanns?

Who agreed to the High Court not to speak about the McCanns and repeatedly lies?

Who agreed not to sell books regarding MM and then did so?

Who is paying the McCanns every month to help keep them in their lifestyle?

Who chased the Smith family for years before he realised they were the wrong Smiths?

Who sabotaged Richard D Hall videos by supplying false information?

Who went around the country nicking road signs and ended up in Court?

Who covers up the involvement of Rachael Oldfield and Fiona Payne at every opportunity?

    Answer Tony Bennett;
    Enough said!

  12. Yes Anonymous 01.22 ........ I get a bit fed up with people posting comments as Anonymous. What an ENORMOUS family it is with that surname! However, I post under my own name and Cristobel's true identity is not a secret.

Believe it or not there are an awful lot of people who comment and post using their true identity and who are trying to find answers to Madeleine's disappearance. That is why the likely fall-out from this Sun interview is causing some disquiet. We are honest in our intentions .... but how is the great British public going to know who is who? We are more likely to be labelled as trouble-making trolls now.

No knives are out at all. Just concerns.

    1. Don't be ridiculous. There are many reasons why people retain anonymity (you have even given a reason in your post) and it's a choice to which they are perfectly entitled. What difference does it make anyway - it's not a crime. It's what is said that is important, not who said it!

Anyhow, who is to say that Cristobell, you or anyone else that uses a name, are using their real name or that they are not also posting using a pseudonym?

      Delete
    2. Did you see not one pro McCann troll wanted to be interviewed ? They all use fake names don't they ? Who else came forward ( pro madeleine ) other than Cristobel to speak when asked ? Ah that's right - no one !

      Delete
    3. Lesley , did you volunteer for interview ? Do you know anyone that did ? Why bother posting about anything if nobody has the courage to stand by what they post about ? Something they pretend to care about so passionately yet they are too scared to speak up publicly in their own name ? What's all that about ? Either everyone comes together for child's sake or everyone may as well just not bother .

      Delete
    4. Wow! Sorry that my comment seems to have upset you (all? or one?), that was not my intention. I understand that many people have to keep their anonymity, of course they do. But many of us don't keep our anonymity ... so please do not accuse me of using a false name! And I never said it was a crime to do so either ... it is merely discouraging that many people have to do so.

And no I did not volunteer for the interview .... the media cannot be trusted not to be economical with the truth, nor to pick and choose what they print of what someone has said. As this episode clearly demonstrates I think.

The point of my comment was that any fall-out affects those who are standing up to be counted by using their real names.

  13. 13:23,
My intentions are also good in wanting justice for Madeleine! It's my choice If I wish to remain anonymous. Not because I have any agenda/ulterior motives, nor is it because I'm a coward. I simply can't stand the petty bickering, and trolling, that seems to start as soon as you disagree with someone, I'm afraid those day's are over.
Take a look at all the forums discussing this subject at the moment, people being persecuted for having a difference of opinion, so pathetic in my view. Those posters using their own names have become targets for abuse, and in some respects given ammunition to their antagonists.

I'd just like to add... I don't wish to offend anyone, but DO get offended when people try to take away my choice of how I interact on here (Anonymous)

  31. I'm an anti who's posted a few things to the CMoMM site. Never mind all the dirt that's being thrown at you. Just try to keep your chin up. I don't know you, but I'm thinking of you. Your intentions are good and you're on the right side in this. You have my respect.

But on that basis, I think you made a mistake talking to the Sun. As for Martin Daubney being a "really nice guy", I'm sorry to say that you sound amazingly naive about that disgusting excuse for a newspaper and the way its reporters work, and also naive (although this is less important) about the way that such an action by you was bound to rebound on the anti community. But all the dirt thrown at you on CMoMM and elsewhere is unpleasant and unnecessary and in some cases vicious and of course it's exactly what the pros want. If I thought you were a plant I wouldn't say this - if you were a plant you'd deserve it, and more - but despite the allegations I have seen nothing that points towards you being a plant. I'm sure there are a number of pro plants active in anti circles, but I strongly doubt that you are one. So...keep your chin up, take a break if you feel like it, but whatever you do, don't let people get you down! Keep up the good work if you want, or retire from it if you want (you've already made a major contribution to the good side in this, and no crap from the Sun can take that away from you). But...well done and respect to you my friend!

  32. Hi Cristobell,

Please can you publish the interview answers that you gave your approval to, even if maybe one or two of the things there you now wish you hadn't said. I don't ask that as any kind of a challenge. But some people are suggesting that there aren't any significant differences. If it's you against the Sun, then I know which side I'm on and it's not the Sun's!
